Uganda’s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development (MEMD) and the Chandler Institute of Governance (CIG) concluded two training programmes for the Ministry’s senior and middle management at Petroleum House in Entebbe. The two training programmes were initiated by MEMD’s Permanent Secretary Irene Bateebe and Under Secretary Grace Tusiime, and co-designed by MEMD and CIG, as part of a broader partnership to support the development of leaders and enhance the Ministry’s performance.

CAG Concludes Excellence in Governance Programme for Vietnamese Public Sector Leaders from Tay Ninh

20 senior public sector leaders from Tay Ninh province in Vietnam, comprising department directors and district-level People’s Committee chairpersons, successfully completed the Excellence in Governance Programme. Conducted in Singapore from 12 to 15 March 2024, the programme was delivered by the Chandler Academy of Governance (CAG) in collaboration with the National Academy of Public Administration (NAPA) of Vietnam. The programme aims to strengthen public sector capabilities in Vietnam, which serves as a foundation for strong nations.

CAG Supports Malawi School of Government to Strengthen Curriculum Development and Design Skills

The Chandler Academy of Governance (CAG), the training arm of the Chandler Institute of Governance (CIG), recently facilitated a two-day Curriculum Development and Instructional Design workshop for the Malawi School of Government (MSG) in preparation for a Malawi Public Sector Leadership milestone programme which CIG and MSG are jointly developing. The workshop was held from 29 February 2024 to 1 March 2024. It aimed to equip senior MSG staff and other facilitators who will be facilitating at the milestone programme with deep insights into adult learning principles, effective curriculum development techniques and resources to create engaging learning modules tailored to meet the evolving needs of public service leaders. These include topics on public policy design and programme management, contract management and results-based project management in the public service amongst others.

CAG Announces Second Run of Pan-African Strong Nations for Africa Programme

This announcement was made at the 42nd AAPAM Roundtable Conference held in Livingstone, Zambia. The theme for the conference was ‘Building Resilient Societies in Africa through Effective Governance and Public Administration: An Imperative for the Realisation of the SDGs and Agenda 2063 Aspirations’. The conference was graced by Her Excellency Vice President of Zambia Mutale W. K.Nalumango, who was the Guest of Honour for the event.

CAG Delivers Training on Policy Design and Implementation Skills for Kenyan Emerging Leaders

The Chandler Academy of Governance (CAG), in collaboration with the Public Service Commission of Kenya (PSC), Emerging Public Leaders (EPL) and Emerging Leaders Foundation (ELF), successfully delivered the third segment of the Public Service Emerging Leaders Fellowship (PSELF) programme.
