CIG and Government of Uganda Deepen Partnership on Integrity and Anti-Corruption Capacity Building

The workshop was officially opened by Hon Beti Kamya Turwomwe, the Inspector General of Government, and Mr Joel Wanjala, the Accounting Officer of the Directorate for Ethics and Integrity. Both leaders emphasised the critical need for integrity and anti-corruption capacity building for Uganda’s ongoing fight against corruption, noting the timeliness of this workshop and encouraging the participants to apply the knowledge gained to strengthen the Government’s anti-corruption practices and strategies.

In his closing remarks, Mr Wu Wei Neng, the Chief Executive Officer of CIG, highlighted the collaborative approach of CIG’s partnership with the Government of Uganda, reaffirming CIG’s commitment to supporting the Government’s anti-corruption efforts through targeted capacity building, sharing of international good practices, as well as development of home-grown tools and solutions.
