- CAG participated in the 42nd African Association for Public Administration and Management (AAPAM) Roundtable Conference held in Livingstone, Zambia.
- CAG announced that it will conduct a second run of the Strong Nations for Africa Programme in 2024, in collaboration with AAPAM, following the successful conclusion of the inaugural run.
- Dean, CAG, participated in a plenary session speaking on the need to restore trust in government. In that regard, the Chandler Good Government Index (CGGI) is an important tool for governments to benchmark their performance, and to identify areas for improvement.
This announcement follows a successful completion of the inaugural run of the Strong Nations for Africa Programme, which was held in Kenya and Singapore in August-September 2023. It brought together 21 senior government leaders from 11 countries across the continent, who were selected from over 200 applicants.
In addition, Mr Kenneth Sim, Dean, CAG, participated in a plenary session, emphasising the urgent need to build trust in governments. Low trust in governments has continued to be a worrying phenomenon in many parts of the world and directly affects the ability of governments to deliver programmes and policies for the benefit of its citizens. Building government capabilities is an important enabler for improving trust in governments.
