New CAG Report Uncovers Trends, Challenges and Opportunities for Public Sector Training Globally

SINGAPORE, 24 November 2022 —The Chandler Academy of Governance (CAG) has officially published the findings of the Global Survey on Public Sector Training today. This new study investigates the challenges that national government training institutes (NGTIs) around the world are facing. It asks how their leaders are innovating their curriculum and pedagogy to equip public servants with the capabilities needed to address urgent policy challenges in a post-COVID world.
The survey report is unique in that it captures the perspectives of NGTI leaders from a very diverse range of countries and territories. 33 institutes from across four continents participated in the survey. In addition to quantitative findings from the survey questionnaire, the report also features qualitative insights and stories from one-on-one interviews that were conducted with NGTI leaders.

The survey was conducted by CAG, in collaboration with our partners, the Eastern Regional Organization for Public Administration (EROPA) and the African Association for Public Administration and Management (AAPAM).

- the challenge of finding qualified instructional designers and the measures that some NGTIs are taking to address this challenge
- the expectation that ‘Leadership and Ethics’ will be the top training topic
- the significance of online training - 100% of NGTIs surveyed report doing some form of online training
