TASHKENT  (Uzbekistan), 3 October 2025  — The Chandler Institute of Governance (CIG) completed a successful scoping mission to Uzbekistan from 22 September to 03 October 2025, following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in June this year with the Uzbekistan Agency for Governance Efficiency (formerly ARGOS). Conducted at the invitation of the Agency, the mission aimed to deepen our understanding of Uzbekistan’s governance landscape and identify potential areas for strategic collaboration in support of ongoing public sector reforms.

During the mission, CIG engaged with a range of key government institutions and development partners in Tashkent, including:

  • Agency for Governance Efficiency
  • Academy of Public Policy and Administration
  • Committee on Family and Women
  • National Statistics Committee
  • Ministry of Economy and Finance
  • Ministry of Justice
  • Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade
  • Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change
  • Institute for Monitoring Current Legislation

The delegation also had the honour of meeting Her Excellency Makhkamova Zulaykho Bakhriddinovna, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Chairman of the Family and Women Committee. Discussions with Her Excellency and various senior government leaders provided valuable insights into the Government’s priorities, reform agenda, and efforts to strengthen governance effectiveness across sectors.
