Yeo Whee Jim
Whee Jim is the founder of Light My Path Consulting, which offers corporate, learning and workshop facilitation.
Whee Jim has more than 20 years of experience working in the public sector. He specializes in sector development, strategic planning, corporate governance, stakeholder engagement, cultural philanthropy and capacity building.
He has worked in various public sector areas. He was the Director of the Public Service Commission Secretariat in the Prime Minister’s Office and revamped the public sector scholarship system and its stakeholder engagement strategy. He was also Institute Director of Governance and Policy at the Civil Service College and handled a range of policy issues: socio-economic, international relations, public communications and engagement, as well as human resource management and development.
Whee Jim has vast experience working with international partners. He was previously with the Singapore Embassy in Beijing. More recently, he was Senior Director of Arts and Heritage in the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, and oversaw Singapore’s cultural relations with international partners. He worked with the Singapore High Commission in Kuala Lumpur, key stakeholders in Malaysia and numerous Singaporean and Malaysian artists to organize Titian Budaya, a 3-month cultural festival in Malaysia. Launched by the Prime Ministers from Singapore and Malaysia, the Festival commemorated the 50th anniversary of Singapore-Malaysia bilateral relations.
Since establishing his consultancy firm, Whee Jim has been working with Bhutan’s Royal Civil Service Commission to transform its civil service. He has curated workshops for several public sector agencies in Singapore across domains such as public policy, leadership development and employee engagement. He has facilitated workshops and focus group discussions for clients in the banking, insurance and non-profit sectors.
Whee Jim was a recipient of the 2019 Lien Ying Chow Fellowship, which is awarded to outstanding senior government officials and distinguished professionals from Singapore and China. He is affiliated to the Salzburg Global Seminar. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Osaka University, Japan, and a Master’s in Business Administration from the BI Norwegian School of Management, Norway.
