Dr Teo Ho Pin
Dr Teo Ho Pin has over 30 years of experience in Township Management and Community Development in Singapore, holding key positions in both the public and private sectors in the real estate and construction industry. He is currently the Non-Executive Chairman of Singapore Stock Exchange Public listed firms Tiong Seng Holdings Limited (Property, Construction and Engineering firm) and King Wan Corporation Limited (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Sanitation firm).
Dr Teo serves as Senior Advisor to Surbana Technologies Private Limited which provides IT services to support township management and facilities management. He is also an Adjunct Professor in the Department of the Built Environment at the National University of Singapore and Singapore University of Social Sciences.
Previously, Dr Teo was the Mayor of Singapore’s North West District (2001 to 2020), and Member of Parliament for the Bukit Panjang Constituency (1996 to 2020). He chaired various Government Parliamentary Committees for National Development, Environment & Water resources, Home affairs and Law. He was also the Chairman of Holland-Bukit Panjang Town Council (50,000 public housing flats and commercial shops), and the Co-ordinating Chairman for 15 towns (1 million public housing flats) in Singapore.
As Mayor, he oversaw community development works for 900,000 residents focusing on social support, healthy living and lifelong learning. As the Town Council Co-ordinating Chairman, he was instrumental in spearheading various township management initiatives such as Dashboard management systems, Customer service management, Feedback and complaint management, Adoption of smart technologies and green initiatives to promote smart and green living in Singapore.
Dr Teo holds a Bachelor of Science degree (building) from the National university of Singapore, and a Master’s (project management) and a Doctorate (building) from Heriot-watt University, UK.
