Adam Graycar
Professor Adam Graycar has had careers in both academia and government. He has been a professor in universities in Australia, Asia and the United States. While Professor of Public Policy at the Australian National University (ANU), he was also Director of the Research School of Social Sciences (RSSS), and the founder of the Transnational Research Institute on Corruption (TRIC). His earlier career post was the Foundation Director of the Social Policy Research Centre at the University of New South Wales.
In his 22-year government career, he worked at the top levels of both the Federal and South Australian governments. He served for 4 years as Head of the Cabinet Office, Government of South Australia. The Cabinet Office is the strategic centre of policy analysis, development, implementation and co-ordination for the government. He was also the longest serving Director of the Australian Institute of Criminology, a Federal government agency whose core business is research and policy.
He works with Australian government agencies on policy analysis and integrity and corruption prevention, and also works extensively and globally with agencies such as the United Nations and World Bank, and teaches regularly at the International Anti-Corruption Academy (Vienna).
In both his academic and government posts, he has been involved with contemporary policy issues and building a bridge between research and practice. He is a highly skilled communicator and educator.
He has two doctorates from the University of New South Wales, is a Fellow of the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia, and is the author of over 300 scholarly publications. His latest book is Handbook on Corruption, Ethics and Integrity in Public Administration.
